George Soros speaking on Wall Street protests and their cause against "corporate greed":“The decision not to inject capital into the banks, but to effectively relieve them of their bad assets, and then allow to earn their way out of a hole gave the banks bumper profits and that allow them to pay bumper bonuses, and the contrast between the two I think is a large contingent of the tea party today, and the other protesters, so I think as I said, I can sympathize with their grievances.”


Soros, who became one of the world’s wealthiest individuals through investments in hedge funds, commented that he sympathized with the grievances aired during the current Wall Street protests. He noted that while credit card charges for small business owners soared during the current economic crisis, the decision not to inject capital into the banks, gave bankers “bumper profits” and “bumper bonuses”.

He pointed out that this contrast “is a large contingent of the tea party today and the other protesters.”
